The Finance Department maintains all financial accounting systems and records including cash receipts, receivables, payables, payroll, and risk management. The department is also responsible for developing and monitoring a system of internal controls.
The Utility Billing Department is part of the Finance Department and is responsible for maintaining Lynden’s residential and commercial accounts for the city’s water, sewer and storm water utilities.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires that every city vendor have a current W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) form on file with the city. Complete the W-9 Form and mail it to: Lynden City Hall, Attn: Accounts Payable, 300 4th Street, Lynden, WA 98264.
Failure to comply may result in backup withholding or delayed payment of invoices until the completed W-9 is returned to us. Your assistance in expediting the return of this information to update and maintain our records is appreciated.
