This project is located between Depot Road, near the Lynden City Park, extending west to 8th Street and south to Main Street.
Judson Street Low Impact Development Demonstration, Phase 1, 8th Street
This project will construct approximately 360 feet of roadway along 8th Street from front Street south to Judson Street, and approximately 650 feet of adjacent alley, between 10th Street then east to 7th Street. Work includes the construction of pervious concrete sidewalks, roadway sections, and alleys, curb, gutter, and other pedestrian improvements. Low impact development stormwater improvements will be constructed along the project. Sanitary sewer and water main improvements area also included as part of the work.
Northwest Washington Fairgrounds Stormwater Improvements
This project will improve water quality in Fishtrap Creek through the implementation of low impact development practices at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds and Event Center in the City of Lynden using an Ecology-funded design. The project will construct facilities to provide treatment for total suspended solids (TSS), dissolved copper, dissolved zinc, total phosphorus, and other contaminants and will also reduce excessive flows to Fishtrap Creek by increasing stormwater infiltration.
Cedar Drive Low Impact Development
This project will replace the deteriorated sewer main, resurface the roadway, and install new stormwater treatment and collection facilities.

West Front Street Culvert Replacement
The culvert under West Front Street sustained significant damage during a flood event in the fall of 2021. The City has secured funding for the culvert replacement.
Bradley Road Roundabout and Safety Improvements
This project will replace the existing T-intersection of Bradley and Vinup Roads with a safe and efficient roundabout and better channelize the corner at the east end of the project. This improvement will address current vehicle circulation problems, especially during the periods of school start and end and following major school athletic events. Additional work in the area will include reconstructing 1/2 mile of Bradley Road to all-weather arterial Complete Street standards for adequate bicycle and ADA compliant pedestrian access to east Lynden.
Pepin Wastewater Extension
This project will construct a new sewer Pump Station 18 (PS-18) and associated sewer force main to accommodate development expected in the Pepin Creek Subarea (PCSA). The PCSA encompasses approximately 460 acres and is the primary area within the City’s urban growth area (UGA) where future residential development is expected to occur in the City’s 20-year planning horizon.
Pine Street Bridge over Pepin Creek
This project will construct a new 80-foot long, 58-foot-wide bridge over the future Pepin Creek relocated channel, The proposed bridge channel capacity will be adequate to reduce the impacts of large food flows in Pepin (Double Ditch) Creek due to the WSDOT court-mandated culvert project. The City has received a $5.5 Million Public Works Trust Fund loan for this project.
Judson Street Low Impact Development Demonstration (9th, 10th, and Judson Streets)
This multi-phase project will retrofit five square blocks in downtown Lynden with improved stormwater infrastructure in concert with a roadway maintenance project. This project will improve water quality in the Nooksack River through design of stormwater low impact development (LID) best management practices at Judson Street in the City of Lynden. The design includes enhanced treatment for total suspended solids, dissolved coper, and dissolved zinc.

Waterline Upgrade and Replacement Project
The proposed project will replace existing city watermains and appurtenances under the following Lynden streets: Garden Drive, Garden Circle, Meadow Lane, South Meadow Lane, and West Meadow Lane.
Street, stormwater, and pedestrian improvements will be included as required.
Pepin FASST (Flood, Agriculture, Salmon, Safety, Transportation)
The City has been working to address a significant water quality and stormwater problem caused by erosive stream banks along Pepin (Double Ditch) creek and over-topping of ditches along Benson and Double Ditch Roads by realigning flows into a new Pepin Creek riparian corridor. Work has included upstream ditching and will include replacing the culvert under Main Street with a bridge over a box culvert. Additionally, downstream stabilization to alleviate bank erosion and failures downstream from Main Street to the confluence of Double Ditch and Fishtrap Creeks - approximately 0.75 miles - will also occur. Two properties have been acquired to protect and expand riparian habitat for Pepin and Fishtrap Creeks.
