The 2014 Lynden Police Department staffing levels stood as  follows:

  • Commissioned Officers 15
  • Limited Commission Officers 1
  • Civilian Personnel 3
  • Reserve Officers 2
  • STARS Volunteers 8
  • Civilian Volunteers 2

The attached documents comprise the Lynden Police Department annual statistical report.  They reflect the activities of the department during the past year, as compared to those of recent years.

Attachment A provides the number of felony and misdemeanor arrests, traffic citations and infractions, administrative and volunteer activities engaged in by the department.  Attachment B provides a more detailed breakdown of departmental activities by specific category.   Attachment C provides a breakdown of animal and parking control activities, as well as the other code enforcement activities engaged in by the Lynden Codes Enforcement Officer.

These three pages of statistical figures attempt to provide a brief overview of the activities participated in by the police department during 2014.    However, since many factors can influence the policing of a city our size, it may not be possible to accurately describe all 9of our activities in numerical form.   This compilation represents our best effort at accomplishing that goal.

The primary mission and focus of the Lynden Police Department is and will continue to be the protection of our citizens and their property.  To that end, our personnel will strive to provide our community with the highest level of police service possible, given the resources available to us.
